This is a spirit of the forest, in its human form. Little is known about the spirits, since they are very seldom seen. The mages of the upper world shun them, since mixing with non-human beings is considered a quite bad thing in their society. The mages of the world below, on the other hand, have no restrictions about such a thing. Then again, their world is almost completely artificial, which means that the chance of meeting a nature spirit in the underworld is infinitely small.

Oh, which reminds me - since I gave you such a poor description on my last painting [link] , I'll take the chance right now to enlighten you by pointing out that that's the reason why the man was holding a mechanical bug in his hand.
The dark mages live in an artificial world, where they create their own life - as far as they are able to.

Now, that has little to do with this specific painting. Anyway, this is my first attempt to paint a "real" Swedish forest. I hope you like it...
